Tampa Bay Buccaneer CB Sean Murphy-Bunting has made a name for himself on and off the field as a charismatic, hard-working, fun-loving, fashion-forward, and charitable young man. The 24-year-old Murphy-Bunting, despite his athletic success and impressive title – Superbowl Champion – maintains an underdog mentality and works hard to represent himself, his family, and his community. Murphy-Bunting devotes much of his free time doing charity work with the organization his mother Kim Murphy – a woman behind the uniform, founded – Successful Jocks.
Successful Jocks’ mission is to inspire, motivate, and empower student athletes equipping them with the tools, resources and support needed to become successful in the game of life. As President of Successful Jocks, Murphy-Bunting serves a role model and SJ Ambassador for the organization.
Football fans may assume "SMB" is an acronym for his name Sean Murphy-Bunting, and it is. But it is so much more. “SMB” is an acknowledgement that So Many Blessings have been bestowed on Sean – and is an opportunity for him use his platform to bless others.
Through Successful Jocks’ ‘So Many Blessings’ program, Murphy-Bunting invests his time as well as money in the community. He’s mentored young athletes, uplifted women in sports, hosted field trips, sponsored shopping sprees, and celebrated birthdays and Christmas with foster children, ensuring they all had gifts. Through Murphy-Bunting’s efforts and matching donations, Successful Jocks was able to award $20,000 in scholarships and provide Mac laptops to college bound, underserved student-athletes. This winter, more than 100 kids in his home state of Michigan were gifted coats through his advocacy and support. Not only is it Murphy-Bunting’s goal to WIN on the football field but he aspires to WIN in The Game of Life.

Kim Murphy is a woman of many roles – Founder and CED, CEO, educator, inspirational speaker, Licensed Professional Counselor, life coach, and athlete manager – but her true passion is being a proud mom to her four amazing sons. She devotes everything she has toward helping them become champion men. Ms. Murphy believes that to be success
Kim Murphy is a woman of many roles – Founder and CED, CEO, educator, inspirational speaker, Licensed Professional Counselor, life coach, and athlete manager – but her true passion is being a proud mom to her four amazing sons. She devotes everything she has toward helping them become champion men. Ms. Murphy believes that to be successful in the “game of life” – not just on the playing field – athletes must be inspired, motivated and empowered, which is a job that usually falls to the athlete’s mother, their first coach.
As a mother blessed with athletically gifted sons, spending over two decades cheering in the stands, on the road, running between games, dusting her sons off, and lifting their spirits, Kim developed a passion for sports. As a sports "FANatic", she realized that the demands of raising athletes can be overwhelming mentally, physically, and financially. Consequently, Kim's many years as a ‘woman behind the uniform’ inspired her to establish and warmly accept the position of Chief Executive Director of this amazing organization, working alongside a Successful Jock – her son, Sean Murphy-Bunting – who serves as President.
Kim’s educational background – a BA in Psychology, a MA in Counseling – and her personal relationships with athletes, parents, and coaches, put her in a unique position to share her playbook through Successful Jocks. Passionate about working with athletes, she is also a strong advocate for their overall well-being. As a result of her hard work and dedication, she has become a vital asset to their success.
Always believing in and standing solidly behind her son, Sean, In April of 2019 Kim witnessed his dreams of playing in the National Football League (NFL) become his reality. He was selected in the 2nd round of the NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the 39th overall pick. That same year marked Kim’s 19th year of being a woman behind the uniform. Only two years later, in 2021, Sean became a Super Bowl Champion, and Kim became a PROUD Super Bowl Champion Mama!
Ms. Murphy has long been an active member in the Metro Detroit, Michigan community where she was born and raised. Currently, she resides in the Tampa area and is well connected to the Tampa, Florida community and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization, as she serves as the Parent Liaison. Kim is a member of the Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA), the NFL Alumni Association and several other philanthropic organizations. Ms. Murphy enjoys being a blessing to others.
